TELECOM COLOMBIA PLANNING TO USE BLACKSTONE POS FOR PILOT PROGRAM
Blackstone (www.blackstoneonline.com), one of the nation’s leading electronic providers of prepaid telecommunications products and services, announced today they have entered into an interconnection contract for international telecommunications services with Telecom Colombia, the leading provider of telecommunications services in Colombia. Blackstone, in accordance with the contract, will be providing Telecom Colombia with its patented Blackstone POS terminals for a pilot program in its company owned stores throughout Colombia. The Blackstone POS has successfully integrated the processing of all major credit cards and ATM/Debit cards with the sale of prepaid products and bill payment services supported on the Hypercom ICE 5500 point of sale platform. According to Mike Acton, Blackstone’s general manager, “Telecom Colombia will be using the terminals to sell prepaid products, like prepaid calling cards and prepaid cellular, and offering our custom payment software to their customers. The Blackstone POS and Payment Systems (BPS) software is ideal for this region of the world, by offering customers this payment option, companies can better manage their administrative costs, reduce customer bad debt and maintain their customer base. In today’s global economy, it is imperative that companies maximize their time and resources and the Blackstone POS enables companies to do just that.” The Blackstone Payment Systems (BPS) software allows companies providing services that are traditionally billed to issue their customers a personalized plastic card with information stored on the magnetic stripe. Customers visit a Blackstone POS location, present their card for swiping, pay the balance due at the terminal; the location accepts payment and electronically submits payment information to the service provider for credit.
