1st Annual Blackstone Fishing Invitational
Blackstone Holds It’s
More than 60 participants gathered at Miami Beach Marina, Friday,
March 24, 2006, for the First annual Blackstone fishing invitational.
Organized and hosted by Adma Telecom, Ta’Facil, Touch-n-Buy, and
Blackstone Calling Cards, the first annual invitational drew 15 boats
and over 60 registered anglers, including top distributors from around
the nation. The tournament followed IGFA rules and carried minimum
weights for all eligible species. The tournament kicked off at 8:00 a.m.
on Friday, after a “Welcome Breakfast,” pictures and boat assignments.
At 10:20 that morning, Thomas Flyer called in the first catch and release
of a sailfish. Excitement continued for the remainder of the tournament
until lines out, at 3:30. A total of six sailfish were caught and released,
as well as King fish, Dolphin and Snappers. After weigh-ins, and more
photos, the points were tallied up and it was time for prizes. Held at
Monty Trainers, right on the dock, prize giving began.
Calling this year’s tournament a “Great Success,” VP of Blackstone,
Carlos Rodriguez, thanked all sponsors for their support, radio operators,
Blackstone’s Marketing Team, Captain’s and Mates of all participating
Boats, and last but not least, all participants.
A special "Thank You" to this years sponsors and supporters:
