BLACKSTONE ANNOUNCES MOVISTAR ALLIANCE CONNECTING U.S. CALLERS TO COLOMBIA
Blackstone, one of the nation’s leading distributors of pre-paid telecommunications products, announced today that through its alliance with Telefonica Moviles “Movistar,’ and ADMA Telecom, it will offer pre-paid calling cards to people in the U.S. calling friends and loved ones in Colombia.
“The opportunity to offer our merchants and distributors a quality product of true benefit to the end consumer is tremendous,” said Blackstone CEO Luis Arias.
The phone card will allow callers in the U.S. to contact Movistar phone users in Colombia at very competitive rates. The card can also be used to call other countries, although specific phone cards offering competitive rates to other countries are also planned.
Movistar is the third largest Hispanic wireless provider worldwide, focusing on meeting the communications needs of all its customers by concentrating on customer service in its telecommunications business, and by strengthening its presence in fixed and cellular telephony activities.
A gala party was held to kick off the alliance on January 19 at the Loews Hotel on Miami’s South Beach. More than 500 guests attended, including celebrities, distributors from across the nation, press, and several consulate members.
