Blackstone (, a pioneer of the prepaid telecommunications industry, announced the successful completion of it’s recent testing of Electronic Receipt Capture (ERC) hosting services. ERC captures the digital signature and receipt together at the point of sale and this data is uploaded to Blackstone for storage and retrieval. In the event of a customer dispute – the merchant no longer has to search through boxes of stored receipts for a paper copy of the transaction – Blackstone will forward the transaction in question electronically to the processor for accurate dispute resolution. Additionally, if a merchant wants to view a receipt or receipts, he or she can access copies of their electronically stored receipts via the website as needed, at his or her convenience. According to Angel Pacheco, Blackstone’ chief technology officer, “This service saves merchants and processors both time and money. As of today, we can host any merchant processing company offering electronic receipt capture on the Hypercom ICE 5500”.
