BLACKSTONE HIRES INDUSTRY VETERANS TO HEAD NEW LD DIVISION
Blackstone Communications, the newest division of the nation’s leading provider of prepaid products and services, Blackstone Calling Card, announced today the addition of Mike Acton, vice president of alternative channels, and Brian Delatore, vice president of agent services, to head up its new one plus long distance division.
Mike Acton, formerly director of alternative channels for First Communications (previously BN1 Communications) of Akron, Ohio, brings over 20 years of business development experience to the company. In his former position, Acton was responsible for the company’s nationwide agent network, wholesale carrier activity, and marketing to affinity groups. Prior career experience includes owning and operating an air freight forwarding company, and a recruiting consultancy company. Acton, in his new position, will be responsible for the development and implementation of new products and services for the company.
Bringing over 20 years of telecommunications experience to Blackstone, Brian Delatore formerly held the position of vice president of sales for Orlando Telephone Company, where he was responsible for the growth of prepaid and local long distance sales for the facilities-based carrier. Additional experience includes vice president of hospitality and one plus sales for Amnex Corporation, where Delatore developed and launched the company’s one plus long distance program. Prior to Amnex, Delatore held several management positions with AT&T, in the accounting, purchasing, equipment, and network marketing departments. Delatore will be handling one plus development and agent procurement for Blackstone.
