Blackstone, one of the nation's leading providers of prepaid products and services, announced yesterday that they had donated over $4000 in prepaid calling cards to United Way organizations for the holidays. The Miami-based charities benefiting from this generous donation were Notre Dame D'Haiti, an organization providing childcare services to underprivileged children in Little Haiti and the Little Havana Activities Center, an organization providing assistance to low-income elderly. According to Clare Morgan, corporate communications director for Blackstone, "The holidays are a time for friends and family, and in an international city like Miami we realized that a number of people would be unable to go home for the holidays. Family is very important to all of us at Blackstone, and it was decided then, that at the very least they would be able to call home for the holidays." Blackstone has rapidly become one of the country's largest providers of prepaid telecommunications products and services with over 300,000 retail locations nationwide. Today, Blackstone has developed the most innovative point of sale system. By integrating the processing of all major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express & Discover Card), and ATM cards and bank cards with the sale of prepaid products into one, easy-to-use terminal, Blackstone POS has revolutionized the electronic transaction industry.
