BLACKSTONE TO EXHIBIT AT CONVENIENCE STORE INDUSTRY NATIONAL MEETING IN LAS VEGAS
Blackstone (www.blackstoneonline.com), one of the nation’s leading electronic providers of prepaid telecommunications products, will exhibit its newest products, including the Blackstone POS terminal, at The NACS Convention & Exposition, October 20 to 23 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas.
The conference, sponsored by the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS), is one of the 100 largest annual trade shows in the country. More than 23,000 industry representatives are expected to attend the exposition.
Blackstone is one of the nation’s largest providers of prepaid telecommunications products and services with over 300,000 retail locations nationwide. By successfully integrating the processing of all major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express & Discover Card) and ATM/bank cards with the sale of prepaid cellular and prepaid calling cards into one, easy-to-use POS terminal, the Blackstone POS, is revolutionizing the electronic transaction industry.
According to Clare Morgan, Blackstone’s director of corporate communications, “NACS is always one of our most successful shows of the year. It is our opportunity to reach the independent and chain retailers from across the country and introduce our latest products and technologies to them.”
Nationwide, there are nearly 120,000 convenience stores, employing more than one million workers. In 2000, the industry reported sales of $269 billion. In addition, convenience stores sell approximately 60 percent of the gasoline purchased in the country, 116 billion gallons overall.
